Basedash for June users

June had been acquired by Amplitude, so if you were a June user you had a few options: join Amplitude with all of your data, or pursue something else (0:00). I recorded this to show those people Basedash, a tool we built to solve a lot of the same problems June does, with even more flexibility. You can connect any of the services you had in June, plus 600 more connection types, and make visuals and dashboards, ask questions in natural language and generate reports (0:21).
Chatting with your data is like ChatGPT with the full context of your connected data source or warehouse, and Basedash writes multiple queries in a row to work out how to answer (0:47). I asked about a demo product we really don't have anybody signing up for, and it wrote three queries in a row to understand that in 13 years we'll get to 3,000 users (1:06).
For the questions you need answered every day there are dashboards, like one with total users, apps added, signups over time and apps ranked by dock count and Twitter followers, which you can rearrange and resize in edit mode (1:23). Similar to June, you can also make a dashboard about a single entity (1:42). We had one for apps, so I made one for users. All I had to say was show me the details of a user, and it wrote the query and generated a variable for a placeholder user I can swap for anyone else (1:57). Then I added the user's avatar, the items in their dock and similar users with my voice (2:16). My own avatar link didn't work anymore, so I switched to Max (2:33).
A dashboard can be restricted to specific people on your team, or published to the web with a public link (2:44). Every chart is SQL under the hood, so queries you've already written for Metabase or Snowflake can come over and run, and every version of a chart's SQL is kept, with who changed it, so you can roll it back (3:00).
Reports are described in natural language and run on a schedule (3:29). Ours writes a monthly update for our investors on the first of the month at 9am, and it can email me so I can forward it on, or post in Slack for the team (3:41).
You can also mention Basedash in Slack, like in the Slackbot demo, and ask about anything you've connected (4:11), or just browse your data as tables (4:39). Any June customer who signed up got an extended trial (5:06).
